This giant Russian comfrey produces huge leaves with impressive stalk sizes of a 2-3 feet or more! Russian comfrey does not produce seeds and must be propagated by root cuttings.
An impressive source of alternative, supplemental protein for livestock like chickens and pigs. Not only that, but the flowers themselves are very ornamental and a great nectar source for bees.
We simply cut the leaf-laden stalks after flowering to give to our chickens as a tasty treat. A win-win for the homestead and island sustainability!
