Myoga ginger plant (blooming), one gallon pot

This is a plant for growing in your garden - photo is of the edible product. Myoga ginger is a delicacy in Japanese and Korean cuisine. A relative of culinary ginger, it is the flower, not the rhizome that is consumed. The inflorescence bud is harvested just before the flowers open, lightly pickled and sliced thinly as a garnish for sashimi or cold noodle dishes. It has a mildly spicy, floral flavor with all sorts of culinary possibilities. These plants are just coming into bloom, most of the flowers are still below the soil surface and not yet visible.
