About Us
Growing One Future is local nonprofit committed to fostering a community of self-sufficient individuals by providing access to fresh produce and valuable agricultural knowledge.
Meet our head grower, Ava; she has a lifetime of experience in organic agriculture from small family farms to large commercial operations. She has Bachelors degrees in Horticulture and Environmental Science from UW Madison.
Our mission is to provide hands-on experience growing organic food and educate and empower people to grow more of their own food (fiber & medicine) while providing the community with fresh fruits, vegetables and plant starts.
Growing One Future aims to alleviate food insecurity on the island of Hawai’i through education. We provide hands-on experience in growing organic food and empowering individuals to cultivate their own sustenance.

Practices
Our farm uses organic integrated pest management practices-These include organic soil fertility, high species diversity incorporating a native plant garden, companion planting, and A LOT of hands on attention. We are a new start up and have a big vision for the future!
Currently our production is 1/4 acre raised garden beds and herb gardens, 1/4 acre native forest, coming soon 1/4 acre plant nursery and greenhouse, and eventually 1/4 acre aquaponic pond and hanging strawberry gardens. The gardens are surrounded by bananas and palms which will be a core part of our regenerative mulching practices for the vegetable gardens.
All of our vegetables and herbs are raised from seed in our nursery.
